One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Dale Wasseman
Directed by: Mr. Jim Wild and Ms. Katt Borrowman
Place of performance: Teatro Calderón de La Barca, Universidad San Francisco de Quito
Year of production: 2008
Review:
About 2000 hours were spent preparing this year's secondary production, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" , a play written by Dale Wasseman, and based on a novel by Ken Nesey. With a 17-student cast and equally large crew each putting in several hours a week since January 2008, production actually began nearly at the the start of January 2007, when the student production crew, Tiny Piano Productions, began meeting.
The play dealt with very adult material and disturbing issues, but participants and audience members all agree that our cast and crew pulled off a high-calibre, heart rending show. This year the backstage work was largerly taken on by students, but it was completely worth with the effort and hard work as the performances clearly showed all the dedication and enjoyment. Overall, this was and extremely rewarding experience for all.
