Casablanca
Directed by: Mr. Jim Wild and Ms. Katt Borrowman
Place of performance: Teatro Calderón de La Barca, Universidad San Francisco de Quito
Year of production: 2008
Review:
In its sixth year now, the BSQ Secondary production was again a great success. This year, due to my insatiable love of film, we chose to do a stage adaptation of Casablanca. Only later did I remember the need for the massed armies of the Third Reich marching on Paris, a full jazz big-band, and busy Moroccan market places; but I think we just about got away with it anyhow.
It was a bigger cast than before, and there were more students too behind scenes. It was an enormous amount of work on the part of everybody involved, both in terms of time and effort, but I'd also like to think that those involved had a good deal of fun, too. And we hope that you enjoyed it.
